District Finance Committee
The appointment of a district finance committee is optional.
If a district finance committee is appointed, the district
treasurer should be a member of the committee. The
appointment should be determined by the governor for each
biennium.
In accordance with the ZI Bylaws, Article XIII Section 7(d),
the district treasurer shall be responsible for the funds of
the district and shall administer them in accordance with
the approved district budget. The appointment of a district
finance committee shall not replace the duties and
responsibilities of the district treasurer.
If the governor decides to appoint such a committee the
following applies:

In consultation with the district treasurer, monitor the
budget(s) versus actual income and expenses during the
district fiscal year.

Prepare a report that the district treasurer presents to the
district board.
•
Recommend a policy for record retention in keeping with
national/local government legal or tax requirements. (For
example, in the U.S. the Internal Revenue Service mandates
seven years.)
•
Assist the district treasurer as needed.
